VIDEO – Marco Andretti Left Frustrated After IMS Test

By  |

Despite posting the quickest lap of Wednesday’s test session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Marco Andretti was left frustrated.

Andretti topped the charts with his No. 27 Andretti Autosport Honda by posting a lap at 223.427 mph. His teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay topped the afternoon session at 222.047 seconds. Simon Pagenaud was the quickest Chevrolet across the pair of sessions at 221.293 mph.

Following the test, though, Andretti accused Chevrolet of sandbagging so they could gain an advantage ahead of May’s Indianapolis 500.

Chevrolet showed they were quicker at Phoenix International Raceway, sweeping the top-10 spots in qualifying. The manufacturer also dominated last season, scoring 11 of the 16 races.
