Rasmus Lindh Leaves Honda Indy Toronto with Points Lead

By  |

TORONTO, Ontario — Putting together a solid weekend with a pair of podium finishes, Rasmus Lindh was able to leave the Honda Indy Toronto with a 30 point lead over Parker Thompson in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires.

“I think it’s quite good for the championship,” he told POPULAR OPEN WHEEL. “We didn’t have the pace in the beginning to win the race, but in the end, I found the speed. So I’m very happy for the championship and the team.”

The rookie was fast across both events in Toronto, finishing second on Saturday and third on Sunday.

“Everybody is fast near the top and we had a bit of a problem all weekend with top speed,” he added. “So we have to work on that for Mid-Ohio.”

Now heading into Mid-Ohio, Lindh will be looking for his third win of the season, after scoring no finishes worse than fourth in the nine events to date.

“Like in USF(2000), we were second all the weekend and Kyle (Kirkwood) was first,” he commented. “This year, it’s the other way around so I’m very happy for that so we can make the step into (Indy) Lights next year.”

As he looks to continue improving, Lindh says the key will be improving their qualifying efforts if they want to be in victory lane more often.
