The 2016 season is set to begin in 68 days, and now the schedule is set in stone.

GP2 Series officials announced the full 11-event schedule, which will consist of eight races in Europe and three flyaway events – Baku in Azerbaijan, Sepang in Malaysia, and the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

“Working on this season’s events, we paid close attention to costs control in order to help our teams maintain a sustainable economic model,” GP2 Series CEO Bruno Michel commented. “I believe we have reached the perfect balance, and our drivers will be able to learn as many F1 tracks as possible in front of the F1 paddock.”

Their 12th year of competition will kick off at Barcelona in Europe on May 15, followed by Monte Carlo two weeks later. The series will then kick off June with a trip to the brand new Baku on June 17.

The month of July marks the busiest of the calendar with a total of four rounds. The month kicks off with Spielberg on July 3, followed by Silverstone on July 10, Budapest on July 24, and Hockenheim on July 29. The series will get most of the month of August off, returning to competition at Spa-Francorchamps on August 28.

The month of September will feature Monza on September 4, followed by a month-long break before Sepang on October 2. The season finale will then take place at Yas Marina on November 27.
