GP2 Kicks Off Test in Spain
It’s more than two months till the GP2 Series season kicks off, but preparations are in full gear for the upcoming year. The first test session of the season is this weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain, on March 9-11.
A mixture of familiar and fresh faces will be in attendance, looking to build on their programs in anticipation of the May 13th season opener in Barcelona.
Each day, the drivers will get four hours on track in the morning and three hours in the afternoon.
Tire supplier Pirelli has selected two compounds to be on hand for the test, with each driver receiving five sets of the Hard (Prime) compound, and two sets of the Soft (Option) compound.
