Verizon INDYCAR Series
Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi Swap Numbers
There will be a new look at Andretti Autosport, and that goes beyond their new driver in Zach Veach. Two of the returning members, Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi, are set to trade car numbers.
While co-owning the No. 98 of Rossi in 2017, Bryan Herta called the shots for Andretti and the No. 27, scoring five top-10 finishes together, with a best finish of fourth on the streets of Toronto.
So it seems only fitting to see Rossi and Andetti swap numbers, and the co-ownership for Bryan Herta Autosport and Andretti Autosport for the third season be associated with the entry in which Herta is calling the shots for.
“I’m thrilled to be continuing the partnership with Andretti Autosport,” said Herta, president of Bryan Herta Autosport. “The relationship has worked really well both on and off the track for us and our partners. I’m looking forward to moving back onto the No. 98 timing stand with Marco and can’t wait to get the 2018 season started.”
For Andretti, the goals entering 2018 are simple – win an Indianapolis 500, along with other races.
“Working with Bryan has been refreshing – he is very committed to getting me all the tools I need to get back into victory circle,” Andretti said. “He believes in my talent and is dedicated to turn that into results.”
